1979 Academic Affairs Committee of La Salle University approves R.N.-BSN Program;
College Council approves program; Director of the Nursing Program appointed

1980 First group of 36 registered nurse students admitted to the Nursing major

1982 First BSN degrees awarded by R.N.-BSN students

1984National League for Nursing granted accreditation to the La Salle University Nursing

1985 16 member Steering Committee was formed by Department of Nursing faculty to
develop La Salle University Honor Society of Nursing

1985 Petitioned for Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, Honor Society of Nursing
1987 Mentor Chapter – Delta Rho, Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing

1987 Distinguished Lecturer Series established by Department of Nursing & La Salle
University Honor Society for Nursing

1987 Delegates sent to Biennial Convention; Kappa Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau
1988 chartered with 175 members inducted

1989 Kappa Delta Chapter became founding member of the Region 6 Research Consortium
and joins Regional Tristate Consortium Conference

1992 Department of Nursing becomes School of Nursing

1998 Kappa Delta Chapter celebrates 10th Anniversary of Sigma Theta Tau International

2006 Nursing Programs, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, La Salle University
(Previously known as La Salle University, School of Nursing)

2008 Kappa Delta Chapter celebrates 20th Anniversary of Sigma Theta Tau International

2009 Dean Zane Wolf receives Melanie C. Dreher Outstanding Dean Award for
Chapter Support at 40th Biennial Convention

2011 Kappa Delta Chapter receives First Chapter Key Award

2011 – Kappa Delta Chapter celebrates 25th Anniversary of Distinguished Lecture Series and Participation in Tri-State Consortium (Longest Running Tri-State Consortium in the History of Sigma Theta Tau International)

2013 – Kappa Delta celebrates 25th Anniversary as a chartered chapter of STTI
