Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for AACSB Accredited Business Programs, was founded as a national organization in 1913. The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business. Beta Gamma Sigma membership provides recognition for a lifetime. As the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can earn, it is appropriate to include Beta Gamma Sigma membership on one’s resume. The La Salle University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma inducted its first class in 1996, and celebrated its twenty-first induction in April 2016 with a ceremony and reception on campus in the Ballroom.

Provost Brian Goldstein provided the welcoming remarks, while Amy Sipps [MBA 2016] explained the meaning of Beta, Gamma and Sigma during the ceremony.

The La Salle University Chapter qualified as a Premier Chapter, which allows us to send a student to the Global Leadership Summit with all fees paid. We also participated in the BGS Gives back program, allowing us to send a second student to the Global Leadership Summit with all fees paid.

Finally, our chapter was designated as the Silver Chapter from more than 500 chapters worldwide, receiving a $1,250 scholarship to be awarded to a newly inducted junior. This was the twelfth time in thirteen years that our chapter has been ranked in the top five chapters worldwide.
